In 2022, the implementation team of the Fish For Life project participated in two exchanges of experience with other LIFE projects, one in Poland and one in Romania. The first trip took place in the town of Gryfice in Poland, between 30.03 and 01.04.2022, for a meeting with the project team LIFE11NAT/PL/000424: Niebieski korytarz Regi'. The project is implemented in the period 01.06.2012 – 30.06.2023, with the main objective of significantly improving the state of aquatic species (Annex II Habitat Directive) by creating a blue corridor along the Rega River. After each team presented the problems they encountered during the implementation period, the Polish team set a route to visit the fish migration passages made in their project.

25 such crossings were made as part of the project, and the Polish colleagues also presented a video monitoring system located at one of the crossings on the Rega River in the town of Lobez. Mister. Wojciech LESZCZYNSKI, the project coordinator, told us that one of the main objectives was to create artificial spawning grounds to increase the number of fish living in the Rega River and improve the Atlantic salmon population.

Un al doilea proiect vizitat a fost LIFE13 NAT/PL/000009, LIFE Drawa PL,  implementat pe râul Drawa în perioada 01.09.2014 – 30.04.2022 și al cărui obiectiv a fost protecția activă a habitatelor trichinella și refacerea coridorului ecologic al bazinului râului Drawa din Polonia. Câteva imagini de pe parcursul deplasării sunt prezentate mai jos.

Cel de-al doilea schimb de experiență a avut loc în perioada 5-8 august, când Cristian Merfu, asistent manager al proiectului, a efectuat o vizită în județul Sibiu, localitatea Avrig, la un eveniment organizat în cadrul proiectului LIFE CARPATHIA – Crearea unei zone de natură sălbatică în sudul munților Carpați, România LIFE18 NAT/RO/001082. Evenimentul, intitulat Făgăraș Fest, a fost creat ca un eveniment cu impact minim asupra naturii și maxim asupra dezvoltării durabile a localnicilor.

Acesta a inclus o proiecție a filmului România Sălbatică, expoziție de fotografii reprezentând flora și fauna din România, tururi ghidate pentru observarea florei și faunei specifice zonei respective, excursie în istoria și cultura Avrigului, activități dedicate copiilor, dar și o activitate pentru păstrarea obiceiurilor locale și anume o șezătoare în Avrig.

De asemenea, au fost purtate discuții cu doamna Georgiana Andrei, responsabil comunicare Conservation Carpathia și doamna Erika Stanciu, specialist arii protejate – Pro Park – Fundația pentru Arii Protejate.
